Alex's Story
Passionate About Inspiring Others

I was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. In high school, my family and I moved to Vermont. Upon graduation, I headed to NYC to study acting at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Acting has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. The craft of acting holds within it so many life skills that impact my everyday life. From acting, I learned how to be a better communicator and listener. From acting, I learned collaboration and self-confidence, empathy, and self-awareness.

I took what I learned from acting school with me throughout my travels. Between earning my undergraduate degree in Communications at Champlain College of Vermont, acting in local theatre and committing myself to the practice of yoga, my twenties were largely spent exploring the world and my love for life.

Losing my father at 23 forced me to face some hard questions: what do I want to do with my passions? How do I want to use my short time on earth?

At 25, I found myself in India. It was there I learned to expand my yoga practice into a deep love and appreciation for meditation.

I came home with greater insight into all that I loved. I started to develop a unique practice that combined both creativity and meditation. I discovered how to savor the richness of life pulling methods from both these distinct realms, and dreamt of finding a way to share my methods with the world.

I went on to earn my graduate degree in Drama and Performance at The University College Dublin. I further studied meditation at the Zen Center in Vermont and learned Loving Kindness meditation. I then earned my meditation teaching certificate at The School of Positive Transformation.
I have spent the past ten years raising my children, teaching acting and public speaking, performing, moving, breathing, writing, traveling, studying and practicing meditation: the living embodiment of creative mindfulness. Today, I can finally share all that I have learned and cultivated over the years with students the world over through The Creative Mindfulness School.

I very much look forward to joining you on your creative mindfulness journey,

A note about giving back:

Practicing gratitude has enormous personal benefits, but it cannot truly be achieved if not practiced in tandem with our responsibilities to others. Gratitude for self must include what surrounds and supports us. A healthy you has an obligation to uplift and pay it forward.
One of the foundational pieces of this school is giving back and supporting community growth. To that end, a portion of our proceeds for each group series will go to help grow various organizations and causes that encourage the wellbeing, and health of the greater community to thrive.
